OBJECTIVE: The effects of methyprednisolone (MP) and Vitamin E (Vit E) combination
treatment was investigated in an experimental spinal cord injury model in rats.
METHOD: Thirty-one rats were randomly divided into the five following groups: control
group, MP group, Vit E group, MP+Vit E group a...

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the suitability of collagen matrix as a dural graft in the repair
of experimental posterior fossa dura mater defects.
METHODS: Thirty New Zealand white rabbits were deployed in the study and randomly
divided into two groups. In both groups, a 1 cm_ piece of dura mater wa...
OBJECTIVE: Many surgical procedures are performed to decompress or to stabilise
anterior C2. The aim of this study was to analyze the C2 body and the odontoid process
(OP) in 80 dry C2 vertebrae from the Turkish population.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: 15 parameters were measured using a Vernier caliper...
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the competence and the results of the treatment in
which ‘Twist drill craniostomy and spontaneous hematoma efflux' is used in

Lhermitte-Duclos disease is a rare hamartomatous lesion of the cerebellar cortex
that may occur in the setting of Cowden's syndrome, an autosomal dominant
condition characterised by multiple hamartomas and neoplastic lesions in skin
and internal organs. We add a further case to this rare entity. ...

A case with giant cavernous hemangioma in the cavernous sinus is reported.
The patient had a 5-month history of headache and visual symptoms.
Computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
studies demonstrated a lesion of the cavernous sinus in the left middle fossa.
Only a bi...

Fat storage in a meningioma occurs via two distinct processes: metaplastic
change of meningotheliomatous cells into mature adipocytes, or microcystic
change and lipidisation of meningioma cells. We report a case of a true
metaplastic “lipomatous” meningioma. Differentiation of two dis...

Bilateral facet dislocations at subaxial levels in a flexion-distraction type trauma
are three-column injuries. Early reduction of the locked facets and
decompression is critical in preventing progressive secondary spinal cord
injury. We present a case of traumatic bilateral facet dislocations tr...
Larsen syndrome is characterized by flat face with hypertelorism, multiple and
bilateral congenital dislocations and juxta-calcaneal accessory bone or bifid
calcaneus due to a generalized mesenchymal defect involving connective tissue.
This rare syndrome sometimes causes severe cervical spinal ky...

We report a case of multilevel thoracic spinal epidural abscess without any
evidence of predisposing factors. Methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus
was identified as the causal pathogen. Infection was managed with surgical
debridement and a prolonged course of antibiotic therapy.
